Posting guidelines

Last updated: September 15, 2026

These guidelines are written in Japanese; translations are provided for reference. If a translation differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.

Introduction

Reviews and restaurant recommendations from guests on Local help other guests choose where to eat. Please write about your own experience at restaurants you have actually visited.

What you can post

  1. Your impressions and ratings of restaurants you have actually visited
  2. Photos you took yourself of the food, the exterior, or the interior
  3. Information that helps our team identify the restaurant, such as its name, area, or website

What you can't post

  1. Posts about restaurants you haven't visited, or ratings that don't reflect the facts
  2. Photos saved from other people's blogs or social media, or from a restaurant's website
  3. Photos showing the faces of other guests, staff, or anyone else without their consent
  4. Photos showing personal information, such as receipts or membership cards
  5. Posts by people connected with a restaurant about their own restaurant or a competitor, or posts made in exchange for compensation
  6. Discriminatory, violent, or obscene content, or defamation of specific people
  7. Advertising or links that lead people to other sites

How we handle photos

  1. We remove camera data such as location information before saving your photos.
  2. Our team reviews photos and decides whether to use them in your review or as restaurant photos.
  3. Photos chosen as restaurant photos remain on the restaurant page even if you delete your post or your account. We don't show your name with them.
  4. If you'd like a photo chosen as a restaurant photo removed, please contact us.

Review and notification

When you recommend a restaurant that isn't on Local yet, our team reviews it and emails you whether the restaurant will be listed. We may choose not to publish, or may delete, posts that don't follow these guidelines.

Deleting posts and your account

You can delete your posts at any time. If you delete your account, your posts (reviews, ratings, and photos) are deleted. Factual information such as the restaurant's name and address, and photos chosen as restaurant photos, will remain.
